Article 30

Participation in cultural life, leisure and sport

This article emphasises that persons with disabilities have the equal right to take part in cultural life. It requires measures be taken to ensure their access to cultural materials, activities, places, performances or services. It also affirms their ability to: develop and utilise their creative, artistic and intellectual potential; enjoy recognition and support of their cultural identity; and, participate in recreational, leisure and sporting activities, including play for children in the school system.
