This is the report of a study into HIV and disability in Tanzania. it assesses the impact of HIV and AIDS on people with disabilities; evaluates disabled people's access to information, testing and services; and makes recommendations for overcoming barriers and obstacles to improve access to HIV services. Qualitative and quantitative information was collected from people with disabilities, disabled people's organisations and HIV organisations in four districts close to Dar es Salaam. This report would be particularly relevant to those with an interest in HIV and disability in Tanzania

Specifically, the report gathers information concerning the knowledge, attitude and practices among people with disabilities; and qualitative and quantitative data including 618 questionnaires conducted in Nairobi and Mobassa. The report findings advise on the development of policy on HIV and AIDS for people with disabilities in Kenya

This is a case study of violence and sexual abuse towards women with disabilities in Malawi. It is based on in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. This work examines the childhood and adult experiences of these women, and asserts that discrimination, stigma and vulnerability is worse for adult women.It claims that improvements to access and education will lead to empowerment, thus improving the overall quality of life that women with disabilities can enjoy. This work would be useful for anyone with an interest in human/ women's rights and disability

This report outlines a series of reports in the National Disability Survey in Afghanistan (NDSA) undertaken by Handicap International on behalf of the government of Afghanistan. The NDSA aims to bridge the knowledge gap regarding the numbers, health, educational and employment situation, livelihoods and social integration of Afghans with disabilities. This is a comprehensive assessment on the state of human rights for people living with HIV/AIDS in Ukraine. It investigates government policies regarding HIV-positive people, PLHA awareness of their rights, access to medical and social services and ART, and experience of discrimination and intolerance. 41.5% of people living with HIV or AIDS reported violations of their rights as a result of their HIV status. The document includes useful statistics and charts, and concludes with a detailed lists of the key findings

This workshop and report were designed to gather from participants their collective experience to reflect on the impact of the Treaty to Ban Landmines, on victim assistance work and offer some clarity and focus to the international community.
