PubMed provides access to MEDLINE, the US National Library of Medicine’s freely available database of references to more than 11 million articles published in 4,600 biomedical journals. Most references include abstracts and some link to the full article. Although this database concentrates on biomedical information from major journals, there are useful references to developing county issues, and to disability and rehabilitation issues in developing countries. Use the term "developing countries" together with a more specific health or disability related term to restrict your search in this way. Disability articles have been referenced from International Journal of Rehabilitation Research and International Disability Studies. Users can simply type in search terms, or run very detailed searches using the advance searching mechanism. There is are extensive tutorials and help facilities

African Index Medicus is a project based in the World Health Organisation's African Regional Office, and supported by "national focal points" -- libraries in different countries which collect, index and send data to the project coordinator in Congo. The project is designed to provide access to health information published in or related to Africa and to encourage local publishing. It aims to collect references of published and unpublished health information which is not indexed elsewhere. Materials indexed include conference proceedings, journal articles and reports covering subjects such as rehabilitation, leprosy and epilepsy from a medical and practical perspective. Where possible, a link to the full text on the Internet is provided

The goal of the Directory of Open Access Journals is to increase the visibility and accessibility of open access scholarly journals, thereby promoting their increased usage and impact. The directory aims to comprehensively cover all open access scholarly journals that use an appropriate quality control system.The new version of DOAJ now includes records at the article level and a search function allowing users to search articles in potentially all Open Access Journals. It contains information about more than 2,500 open access journals (i.e. quality controlled scientific and scholarly electronic journals that are freely available on the web). Currently over 700 of these journals are searchable at the article level making it possilbe to search 125,000 articles

DOTCOM is an online tool to map the progress made on a range of key instruments relevant to implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It is "constructed from a large database of information about national laws, policies, strategies and initiatives in the Member States of the European Union, its Candidate countries and other associated countries. For each of the 34 countries, and for the EU, it includes summary information on 43 selected policy instruments, organised in eight themes (more than 1,500 records). Each record includes descriptive text and web links to policy documents or sources of further information at the national level"
