The ILO has commissioned this paper as a contribution to the deliberations taking place in preparation for the development of a United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. This report highlights a project implemented in Ethiopia that supported entrepreneurship among women with disabilities. It highlights exploratory surveys in the city of Addis Ababa and the rural Tigray region. The project successfully promoted economic empowerment among women with disabilities and women with disabled dependants, through partnerships with local NGOs of persons with disability.
